The Functional Genomics Center Zurich supports research in the Life Sciences, more precisely, in genomics, transcriptomics, proteomics, metabolomics, and bioinformatics. FGCZ offers state-of-the-art infrastructure as well as expertise in technology and data analysis.

The team operates a comprehensive bioinformatics core facility that supports all omics data types generated across the centre - genomics, transcriptomics, proteomics, metabolomics/lipidomics, and more. They offer full-spectrum support starting from experimental design and consultation, through raw-data processing and high-performance computing, to advanced data analysis, integration of multiple omics layers, statistical evaluation and biological interpretation.

The facility is backed by robust IT infrastructure to manage large-scale, heterogeneous omics datasets efficiently. With a highly experienced team of more than a dozen scientists covering diverse expertise, they are able to deliver reliable, reproducible, and integrative multi-omics solutions tailored to the needs of academic researchers. In addition, they also offer courses with a focus on bioinformatics.
