About this service

AiiDAlab is an open-source Jupyter-based web platform that provides a user-friendly interface to the AiiDA workflow management system, enabling researchers to run, monitor, and analyze computational workflows directly in the browser. It supports reproducible research by automatically capturing detailed provenance of all data and processes, ensuring that results can be traced, verified, and reused.

The platform integrates simulation codes, data management, and visualization tools within a unified environment, lowering the barrier to entry for complex computational methods. Users can access domain-specific applications (“apps”) that guide them through workflow setup, execution on local or remote computational resources, and post-processing of results without requiring in-depth technical expertise.

AiiDAlab is designed to support FAIR data principles and can be integrated with external services such as electronic laboratory notebooks (ELNs), data repositories, and experimental facilities. It is used across multiple scientific domains and supports collaborative and data-driven research by enabling sharing of workflows, data, and reproducible analysis pipelines.
